Megaman (Legends 3) In General

If you are a Megaman fan, it is no doubt that you've seen or heard about Capcom's recent neglect of the series. And now with the 25th anniversary being worked on by "top men", we're left to wonder what exactly the company has in store for us. Many people write it off as they're just trying to kill off the series, and I refuse to accept that. Yes, it's true that the main reason I choose not to accept defeat so easily is because I've grown up with Megaman my whole life, and I would hate more than anything to see him go, but in this case, I just feel that with the big demand for Megaman titles by fans, Capcom can't possibly expect us to just turn a blind eye to their terrible decision making.
Top men are apparently to blame if anything happens, and for their unnamed sake, I hope they don't screw up the series. I have noticed in the more recent years Megaman has ventured off of the original idea of the games with the releases of the NT Warrior series, The ZX series, and the Star Force series, but all of those games still played and felt like a Megaman game. Many people believe that the series has been dying since the releases of those newer titles, and as a gamer, I don't see why people always have to make such a big deal out of things when a company decides to evolve its any of its series. It's true that not a majority of the people have a problem with the newer games (however new you might not think they are), but the fact that some people are so close-minded that anything resembling change is flamed and trolled by the hating community is just a real tragedy. Capcom has a few issues it has to take care of, but first they need to realize that Megaman can't just be tossed aside. It's like they think, "Oh, well, he's made us popular enough. Now we can keep the momentum going ourselves." That's not how it works because fans want it, and usually companies will give fans what they want if there's enough of them wanting it (not always though).
Which brings me to my original reason for posting this. Megaman Legends. It was my favorite game in the series. It was the biggest stretch off of the original Megaman games in the sense that it was a more human incarnation of Megaman, and it happened to be a 3D game, abandoning its 2D roots. Megaman Legends 2 came, and it was even better than the first, but the one thing that stuck out from this series like a sore thumb was it's inability to provide us with a decent ending to the series. Megaman Trigger discovers the place of his origins (not Earth by the way), and ends up stuck there. Now, the last words spoken by Megaman were the biggest hint at a sequel ever in a Megaman game (possibly the only hint at a future title with the exception of I believe a few X titles). Megaman states that Roll will come looking for him (and the mother she hadn't seen in so long) The game ends with Roll and Tron Bonne attempting to build a rocket, but they have very different tastes in design. Tron wants to go the cheaper, less effective route, while Roll is criticizing her on her choices saying that her design is better than Tron's. The two get in an argument, and Data says that Megaman will just have to wait "a little while longer". Thus ends Megaman Legends 2. Now whether you like the series or you hate it, I think we can all agree that the ending deserves a sequel (if not for you, for the fans of the Legends series). It's really sad that we may never see it, but if Capcom is doing what I hope they're doing, we're in for a surprise when the next Megaman game comes out.
I believe that Capcom's sudden plummet into idiocracy is a ploy. This ploy has undeniably given them publicity, and many people believe that any publicity is good publicity. While they keep their operations very secret, how are we to know whether or not they're working on the best Megaman game ever. We can't possibly know that. Capcom, being the very sneaky company they are, could very well be designing a new Megaman game without our knowledge. I'm not saying it's coming out in 2012, but it may come out in 20XX.
Of course, getting your hopes up about it almost certainly spells doom for your dreams in the future, so just in case, it's always better to believe the worst and get the best rather than believe the best and get nothing at all. I'll stop it here (I honestly didn't want to ramble this long...). Have a good day, and please keep supporting any efforts to keep Megaman alive (don't stop supporting Capcom altogether).
